Kismayo is connected by a network of key roads that serve as vital arteries for movement within the city and to surrounding regions. Major roads include Via Afmadow Road, which connects Kismayo to the Afmadow District and interior parts of Jubaland, and Port Road, which links the city center to Kismayo Port, facilitating the transport of goods and passengers. Airport Road provides access between Kismayo International Airport and the urban core, supporting both local and international travel. Other important routes include Fanole Road and Dalhiska Road, which serve densely populated neighborhoods and business zones.

Ongoing road upgrades and enhancements to public transport are part of the city’s infrastructure development plan. These efforts aim to improve traffic flow, boost trade connectivity, and ensure safer, more reliable transportation for residents and visitors.
