Covering a total area of roughly 75 square kilometers, the city continues to grow, with an annual urban growth rate estimated at 4.1%. This growth is largely fueled by expanding infrastructure, increasing trade, and resettlement initiatives.
Administratively, Kismayo is divided into several districts, each contributing to the city’s socio-economic vibrancy. These include Central Kismayo, Farjano, Shaqalaha, Calanleey, Via Afmadow, and Fanole. Each district plays a key role in the city’s governance, service delivery, and community development.
